When Two Objects Become One
For many years, we have made devices for spirometry. We know that paper mouthpieces are very practical: they are light, disposable, and easy to use. We also know that our VB filters are very precise and important for safety and reliability during respiratory tests.
One day, we asked a simple question: “What if we combine these two separate objects into one?”
The patent was filed in 2015, but the idea took many years of work. We carried out research, technical studies, lab tests, and built many prototypes—some were rejected, others improved. Our goal was challenging: to combine a paper mouthpiece with a VB filter, without losing performance, safety, or compliance with medical standards. This is how BOFAP was created
BOFAP meets all technical requirements. It passed strict low-flow resistance tests and provides a high level of protection. All of this comes in a simple, lightweight, and sustainable
It is a mouthpiece with a built-in filter, compatible with most spirometers on the market. The filter is sealed inside the EUROSPIRO cardboard tube without using glue or additives. We use a low-energy welding process that uses up to 75% less electricity than traditional methods.
BOFAP combines:

The entire production process takes place at LUMED srl, from manufacturing to packaging. It is powered by renewable energy thanks to a photovoltaic system.
